International Soca Monarch Finalists Announced

The International Soca Monarch (ISM) has released the list of finalists that will be competing for the coveted title.

Vincentians Hance John and Shertz “Problem Child” James competed at the semi-finals on Sunday (Feb. 2), representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Problem Child competed with his hit “Nasty Up”, while Hance went in with his 2019 Ragga Soca Monarch win “Uptown Party”.

Problem Child made the cut, being the third name on the list. Hance, however was not so fortunate.

The ISM has revealed that there will be a new category at the 2020 ISM competition.

According to ISM Chairman Simon Baptiste, the “Fan Fave Save” will feature one artiste who entered the competition but did not place. Based solely on their socials, the person can be voted in by simply going to the ISM’s Instagram page and liking their picture.

Baptiste said, “A top 5 will be released on our IG page later this evening. The specific promotion will end on Tuesday February 4th 202 at 11:59p.m.”

The finalists were also revealed; see below who will battle for the crown in the Power and Groovy categories on Fantastic Friday night.

Fantastic Friday – International Soca Monarch Finals will take place at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain on Friday February 21st from 6pm.
