TRAVEL TO CHINA DISCOURAGED AT THIS TIME

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is advising the general public that travel to and from China is discouraged in light of the recent outbreak of the coronavirus which prompted the Director General of the World Health Organization to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

The Ministry also wishes to restate that anyone who arrives in St. Vincent and the Grenadines having been in China within 14 days prior to arrival will be quarantined for 2 weeks. The cooperation of the general public is solicited.

The first activation of the quarantine as an infection control practice was effected on Friday Feb. 7 2020. The Ministry says since that date it has continued to apply it as necessary and required. The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is serious about working with stakeholders to protect and promote the health of citizens and the nation.
