Former Senator Carlos James and newly appointed Senator Dr. Mineva Glasgow were both sworn in as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly during Parliament on Thursday March 26, 2020.

James lead the votes 11-6 over the New Democratic Party’s Senator Marcia Barnwell, with one of the seven members of the opposition present abstaining.
