Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) on 3-Day Mission in SVG

A Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) COVID-19 Incident Management Team is currently in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The team arrived on Sunday March 15th, 2020 for a 3-day mission.

Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Hon. Luke Browne met with the team on Monday (Mar. 16) morning.

“We had a productive meeting this morning covering all aspects of our national response to the pandemic,” Browne reported.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Mr. Cuthbert Knights.

The PAHO team will be visiting key stakeholders including those in the Grenadines.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, on Wednesday March 11 confirmed St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ first case of COVID-19.

Over the weekend, Prime Minister Hon. Ralph Gonsalves announced that all isolation facilities are expected to be fully operational by mid-April 2020.
