PAHO provides support to Ministry of Health with $100,000

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is providing further support to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Hon. Luke Browne shared via Facebook on Tuesday (Apr. 28) that PAHO is providing support to his ministry for the prevention and control of COVID-19 with a budget of $100,000.00.

According to the minister, this provision will be used to purchase computers for surveillance, thermometers, machines for cleaning public transportation vehicles and medical equipment & supplies, as well as public service announcements.

Health officials recently issued a “stay at home” advisory for the upcoming May Day public holiday.

SVG on Tuesday (Apr. 28) recorded its sixteenth case of COVID-19. There are therefore 8 active and 8 recovered cases. No deaths have been recorded.
