St. Lucia Discontinues Waste Collection Services

ST. LUCIA NEWS ONLINE: In light of the 24-hour lockdown imposed by the Government of Saint Lucia, the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA), has discontinued all waste collection services until further notice, effective Thursday, 2nd April 2020.

The last waste collection day was Wednesday, 1st April 2020.

Residents are asked to secure waste at home until waste collection resumes. The SLSWMA solicits the cooperation of all during this time in an effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

St. Lucian Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet implemented a  24-hour lockdown on Tuesday (Mar. 31).

As of 5 a.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2020) every person shall remain confined to their place of residence under a 24-hour curfew, the prime minister said via a live national address.
