The Kingstown Board wishes to advise that stimulus payments to vendors, cart-men/women which was slated for Wednesday May 13, 2020 has been postponed.
The board noted that they were only able to contact some of the registered vendors.
Vendors who are registered with the Kingstown Board, signed up for income support on May 11, 2020 as part of the government of SVG’s COVID-19 Recovery & Stimulus Package.
Once eligible these Vendors were initially expected to receive $200 for the next three (3) months in the first instance.
Benson Plaugh-Feddows, Warden (Ag.) of the Kingstown Board, speaking to XtremeFM informed that based on information he received from a government official, the payment has been increased to $300.
According to the Kingstown Board, the postponement of payment is due to the overwhelming response during the registration phase, taking longer than they had anticipated.
Plaugh-Feddows informed that approximately 1,300 vendors signed up for the income support.
The board has informed that a future payment date will be announced.
