77 more farm workers leave SVG for Canada

A second batch of workers has left St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) for Canada as part of the Canadian Agricultural workers initiative.

Seventy-Seven (77) Vincentians departed from the Argyle International Airport on Thursday (June 4) morning on board a Sunwing flight.

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Labour, the Hon. Saboto Caesar, speaking via Facebook shared that he offered some encouraging words to the workers.

“All the best and represent SVG!”

On May 12, 2020, one hundred and thirty (130) workers left the state for said programme where they would take up jobs on various farms.
Some of the workers went to fruit farms while others will go to marijuana farms.
