New Democratic Party (NDP) Senator and candidate for South Central Winward, Israel Bruce has shared that he has interest in several government departments and so, can not identify which ministry he would like to head, should this country’s main opposition form government in the next general elections.
Speaking on the WakeUpCall with Tha Fugitive and Christal on Tuesday (June 9), Bruce noted that the NDP consists of multi-talented politicians.
Bruce was posed with the question, “If you were elected to be area representative of South Central Winward and if the NDP was the next party to head the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, what ministry do you think you would be best suited for?”
His response: “That’s a wild card question, that’s a brilliant question. But what I can say to you is that we work as a team. There are multi-talented persons in the line up of the New Democratic Party and anyone of us could be asked to undertake any ministry of relevance for the advancement of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”
“I have interest in culture, I have interest in youth, I have interest in sports, I have interest in education… the prime minister would have to make that determination ultimately,” Bruce deduced.
Although he did not specify a ministry for which he would like to be elected minister, the senator did share one of the projects he plans to embark on should he win the South Central Winward MP seat – connecting higher Lowmans with lower Lowmans.
“I have made it clear to the people of Lowmans, one of the things I have given clear consideration to, and I know that I’ll get the support of my colleagues in the parliament, is that we would seek to expand that road, to make it wider and to allow us to connect higher Lowmans, with lower Lowmans,” Bruce informed.
