The Cuban Medical Brigade that arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in March to assist with the national response to COVID-19 has left.
Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE), Hon. Luke Browne, announced on Tuesday (Jul. 14) via Facebook that the 12 nurses left SVG on Monday (Jul. 13) night. A cocktail reception was held for them at the Prime Minister’s Residence.
Minister Browne informed that the four doctors will remain here in SVG “for an additional period of time to provide ongoing support for the discharge of general health services in this country.”
Four specialist PCR lab technicians are due to arrive here in SVG on Friday (Jul. 18)
According to the Health Minister, this is to “bolster local capacity as we ramp up testing to accommodate the resumption of international flights.”
