St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday (Jul. 20), was on the receiving end of a donation of medical supplies from Taiwan.
The items including rapid test kits, N95 masks, auto temperature measurement stations, isolation gowns and protective coveralls, were received by Hon. Luke Browne, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment.
The handover was made by H.E. Calvin Ho on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at the Argyle International Airport.
Speaking about the donation on Facebook, Minister Browne said: “SVG continues to be a strong advocate for the participation of Taiwan at the World Health Assembly and other forums of the United Nations,” noting that “Taiwan has already contributed over $1 million worth of equipment and supplies to our national response to COVID-19.”
Also in attendance was Permanent Secretary in the Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Cuthbert Knights.
