Modern Medical and Diagnostic Centre launches Blood Bank with Mobile Unit

The Modern Medical and Diagnostic Centre (MMDC) in Georgetown on August 7, 2020, launched its Blood Bank, equipped with a mobile unit under the theme “Safe Blood Saves Lives”.

The launch, which was conducted at a blood donation drive spearheaded by the centre, saw voluntary donors of all blood types donate blood.

The MMDC is now equipped to receive and store blood donations from all blood groups.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to persons including Gregory Ferrari who were instrumental in establishing the mobile blood unit.

Remarks were made by Kamarla Questelles – Senior Lab Technologist; Elliot Samuel – Chief Lab Technologist; Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment – Hon. Luke Browne and Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves.

The MMDC launched this accomplishment on the heels of its second anniversary.
The MMDC opened its doors in July 2018 and was a landmark development in the ongoing transformation of the health services in this country, according to Hon. Luke Browne.
