New ULP Candidate for Northern Grenadines

Constituents in the Northern Grenadines will soon have a new Unity Labour Party (ULP) candidate to represent them at the upcoming general election.

This was announced  by Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves during the ULP’s first virtual public meeting on Wednesday (Aug. 19) night.

“This evening I will be at the podium to identify and bring to the public our four new candidates on mainland St. Vincent. There will be a fifth new candidate on our slate for the Northern Grenadines but we will announce that a little later.”

Herman Belmar, Deputy Director of Grenadines Affairs is presently the ULP’s candidate in the constituency.

The Northern Grenadines seat is held by Dr. Godwin Friday, Leader of the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP).

The virtual meeting which was held with the slogan “Lift SVG higher”, saw the presentation of the party’s newest candidates.

Dominic Sutherland – Central Kingstown; Dr. Orando Brewster – Central Leeward; Dr. Mineva Glasgow – South Leeward and Curtis King – West St. George.

General elections are constitutionally due here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines by March 2021. PM Gonsalves has said they will be held by year end.
