RICHMOND, Va. – (Monday, August 31, 2020) – The Richmond Kickers (American football club) are pleased to announce the signing of forward Oalex Anderson, pending USL League One and USSF approval.

“Oalex is a dynamic attacking player with the ability to score goals,” commented Darren Sawatzky, Kickers Sporting Director and Head Coach. “He was a great professional in Seattle and you could see his ability in big games. We are looking forward to adding him to the attacking pieces here for the future.”

Anderson brings in a wealth of experience to the Kickers roster spending time in Seattle, connecting with Sawatzky during that time. He signed with Sounders 2 in 2015, going on to score four goals in 16 matches. After the conclusion of the USL Championship season, he caught the eye of the first team technical staff, signing with the Sounders for their 2016 MLS Cup winning season. Since 2014, Anderson has been capped 24 times with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Team, scoring 12 goals.

“I am thrilled to come back to the USA to continue on with my football career,” said Anderson. “I’ve known Coach Sawatzky from our time in Seattle and am honored to come and play for him. Richmond is a fantastic city and I look forward to my arrival, meeting my teammates, getting to work and ultimately scoring goals and winning trophies for the city and fans!!”

The Kickers go on the road next Saturday night, traveling to face FC Tucson at Kino North Stadium. This match kicks off at 10:30 p.m. EDT. Catch the match live on WTVR CBS 6.3 (Comcast 206, Verizon FiOS 466) and streaming on ESPN+.
