Shopping Centre to open at decommissioned E.T. Joshua Airport by Christmas

The decommissioned E.T. Joshua Airport in Arnos Vale, will soon be home to a new shopping/business complex, the Joshua Centre.
During his budget address on February 3, 2020, Minister of Finance, Hon. Camillo Gonsalves said: “This year, National Properties plans to convert the vacant passenger terminal building at the former ET Joshua Airport to a modern retail and entertainment plaza. National Properties has been overwhelmed by the number of expressions of interest from local business entities. That facility, to be anchored by existing Kingstown-based companies, will open in the second half of 2020.”
On Monday (Sept. 14), Gonsalves provided an update, along with concept drawings via Facebook, informing that construction is underway.
The Finance Minister shared that the first tenants to occupy the building include ACE Hardware, Courts, BOSVG, as well as a food court and other retailers. These businesses will be established for the 2020 Christmas shopping season.
The entire Joshua Centre – which includes the new wing, should be completed around March 2021, Gonsalves informed.
The Joshua Centre will house shopping, food, entertainment, banking, fitness and small business entities.
“Big up National Properties and all the retailers willing to expand and invest in this COVID period,” Gonsalves expressed.
