The Health Services Committee of NEMO, has issued an updated Advisory on the health protocol for the conduct of elections in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
General Elections in SVG will take place on Thursday November 5, 2020.
All polling station workers and officials will wear face coverings/masks at all times and regularly sanitize their hands or change their gloves.
All general voters/electors are encouraged to wear masks/face coverings while at the polling station.
Hand sanitization will be implemented before and during the voting process:
- Before the removal of face covering to allow for the verification of
- After the replacement of the face covering following the verification of
- Before dipping finger in the indelible ink.
The period 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm has been agreed to as the time assigned for voting on Thursday, November 5, 2020, by eligible electors/voters who are in day 6 to day 14 quarantine. As a result, during 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Thursday November 5, 2020, only electors/voters in day 6 to 14 quarantine and holding the appropriate Medical Officer’s Order will be allowed to vote.
SVG has recorded seventy-four (74) COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, October 28, 2020. There are four (4) active cases in isolation. There is currently no evidence of local or community spread of COVID-19 in SVG.
