BRAGSA providing MoH with 2 pick-up trucks for fogging operations

The Roads, Buildings & General Services Authority (BRAGSA) is teaming up with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) to combat Dengue Fever in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

A 2020 outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease has claimed six lives.

BRAGSA will assist the MOHWE’s Insect Vector Control Unit with the provision of two pick-up trucks.

The Insect Vector Control Unit is conducting fogging operations across SVG as part of its mosquito control programme.

BRAGSA in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Oct. 7) said:

The company is providing two vehicles with drivers to assist the initiative.

Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Hon. Luke Browne, announced on XtremeFM that his ministry is currently in the process of procuring some thirty fogging machines and additional vehicles. At present, the Insect Vector Control Unit has two pick-up trucks and four fogging machines.
The MOHWE last Friday announced that it will be rolling out its $1.6 million Dengue Fever response project.
