Ministry of Health receives US$173,000 cash donation from Taiwan for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes

The Republic of China (Taiwan) on Monday, October 12, 2020, handed over a cash donation of US$173,000 to The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) for a Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes.

The funds were handed over during a brief ceremony at the MOHWE Conference Room.

The monetary donation will be utilized to train local health personnel to strengthen their capacity in diabetes prevention and control.

The ministry informs that the donation will also be used to support an intervention study to evaluate the efficacy of a Self-Management Education Program under the Diabetes Prevention and Control Project.

Through this and other previous donations, the MOHWE, says it’s able to significantly further enhance its capacity for diabetes prevention and control to benefit the citizens of this blessed nation.
