Four Vincentian Musicians on Tuesday (Oct. 27) received the honour of becoming Cultural Ambassadors for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Soca Artiste Hance John, Violinist Darron Andrews and Pannist Rodney Small were awarded the distinction by Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves during his address to the nation at the Military Parade at Victoria Park, marking this country’s 41st Independence.

PM Gonsalves said, “It has been drawn to my attention that some distinguished cultural artistes… performers, who have served our nation selflessly.”

“Appointed with immediate effect are four more cultural ambassadors,” he said. Three young men who in the midst of Covid, gave us the song ‘Keep the Faith’… Rodney Small, Darron Andrews and Hance John.

“Additionally,” he continued, “our Vincentian musician, an icon who lives in Montreal, Julian McIntosh is also appointed with immediate effect, as a cultural ambassador.”

Gonsalves wished “congratulations to all of these cultural ambassadors.”

Small, John and Andrews released “Hold the Faith” back in July. “Hold the Faith is a song that reminds us to be positive and stay positive no matter how hard things get just #holdthefaith.”
