RELEASE: We have been observing the flow of traffic at the SOL Banfield Service Station in Kingstown and recognize that we are faced with two (2) major challenges, which we wish to address:
1. Minivan drivers are using the station as a bus stop and
2 An unusual flow of through way traffic by pedestrians and motorists.
As you are aware, the region recently suffered from two (2) catastrophic gas station fires in Jamaica and Union Island. We therefore wish to sensitise the public of the dangers of these unsafe practices and would host a “stand down” at the Service Station on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.
A “stand down” is a practice that we use as part of our safety awareness where we close operations temporarily to discuss the safety issues at hand.
