Burglars plead not guilty to $37,000 First St. Vincent Bank theft

Police on Thursday November 19, 2020 arrested and charged Jrann Browne for the burglary and theft of $37,000.00 in cash from the First St. Vincent Bank.

Following the arrest of Browne, police also apprehended and jointly charged Jason Williams, a 32-year-old Labourer of Arnos Vale and Solomon Laborde, 27, also a Labourer of Murray’s Village with the offences of burglary and damage to property stemming from the same incident.

According to police investigations, the accused men allegedly entered the First St. Vincent Bank as trespassers and stole $37,000.00 in cash. They were also charged for, without lawful excuse, damaging one (1) 43 ¾ x 77 ¼ glass window pane valued at EC$900.94 by smashing it with stones.

The incident occurred between 11:00am on November 14, 2020 and 9:30pm on November 15, 2020 at the bank, located on James Street in Kingstown.

The accused men appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court and pleaded not guilty. They were remanded into custody until November 27, 2020 for bail review.
