Sharpes man charged for tearing Police Officer’s jeans, among other offences

Police on Wednesday (Nov. 11) arrested and charged Junior Bibby, a 25 year old Farmer of Redemption Sharpes with the Offences of possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition; damage to property; resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.

According to investigations, the accused was allegedly met in possession of one .22 Revolver and six rounds of .22 ammunition without a license issued under the Firearms Act.
Additionally, in the process of being detained by the police, Bibby assaulted and resisted the arresting officer. He was also charged with damaging the officer’s jeans pants valued at EC$100 by holding onto it, causing it to tear in the process.
The incident occurred at Redemption Sharpes on Thursday November 7, 2020.
The Accused is expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court to answer the charges.
