World AIDS Day, designated on December 1 every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.

On this occasion, the St. Vincent Planned Parenthood Association says: “Today we stand in solidarity with those infected with the virus and those affected by those living with the virus. Today we show our love and affection to bring awareness to the pain HIV has brought to our world.”

“Please note discrimination kills, stigmatization leads to depression. Education and love heals our world,” the association concluded.

To commemorate the day, the association, located in Paul’s Avenue, Kingstown, will be conducting free HIV, COVID-19 and Syphilis testing until 3pm today, Youth Coordinator Marlon Young informs.
