SVG Prison Concert and Football Match Cancelled due to national security matters

The Superintendent of Her Majesty’s Prisons and the Belle Isle Correctional Facility, Mr. Timothy Hazelwood wishes to advise the general public that the popular prison concert and the football match between Superintendent of Prison’s Team and the Commissioner of Police’s Team have been cancelled.

In a release, Superintendent Hazlewwod cited “the COVID-19 pandemic and the current review of national security matters at both facilities” as the reason for the cancellation.

The Royal SVG Police Force on Wednesday December 9, 2020 launched a manhunt for prisoners Veron Primus and Ulric Hanson, both accused of Murder, after they escaped from Her Majesty’s prison in Kingstown.

The accused murderers were recaptured the following day, Thursday December 10, 2020 in Campden Park.

This was Primus’ second prison escape.

The Superintendent and staff regret any inconvenience caused and extends best wishes to everyone during this festive season.
