Dengue Fever Update: 1790 laboratory confirmed cases in SVG

Amidst an outbreak of local spread of COVID-19, Dengue Fever cases continue to be recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

The last report provided by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) on November 24, 2020, informed that there were 1617 laboratory confirmed cases of dengue fever as of November 14, 2020.

An update has since been provided, indicating an increase of 173 cases.

Epidemiologist within the MOHWE, Tamara Bobb on Wednesday (Jan. 13, 2021) informed that a total of 1790 cases of Dengue Fever have now been confirmed in SVG, as of January 8, 2021.

The November 24, 2020 report stated that seven (7) persons had died as a direct result of Dengue Fever during this current epidemic. No update on any additional deaths has been provided since.
