All operations at the Argyle International Airport remain suspended

RELEASE: Due to significant ash deposits caused by the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano, all operations at the Argyle International Airport, have been suspended as the facility undergoes rigorous clean-up of runways and aprons.

The initial suspension of operations was tentatively until 4:00pm on Monday April 19, 2021. The clean-up work continues and notwithstanding tremendous progress, today’s assessment indicates that it is not possible to commence operations at AIA, today, April 19, 2021.

A new update will be provided as soon as possible.

Airports in the Grenadines:

  • An update on operations at the J.F. Mitchell Airport in Bequia will be provided shortly.
  • The Canouan, Union Island and Mustique airports remain operational from 9:00am to 5:00pm, only to accommodate special flights with prior permission.

Further information on the operational status of all airports in SVG will be given soon as possible.
