Singer and songwriter Fya Empress (Lornette Reid), hails from the beautiful island of St. Vincent but has been an ambassador and resident of Tobago for the past 15 years.

 

Her love of music, undeniable voice, catchy phrases and witty songwriting skills shaped over many years of dedication, has led to her demand as one of St. Vincent’s proud exports and contributing to International Soca Music Worldwide.

 

Fya Empress began singing professionally over 15 years ago and has won many awards and accolades during this time. She alongside her devoted husband and manager David ‘ Mr Fusion’ Reid started performing together with their band under the moniker ‘Fire Fusion’. Thus far in Fya Empress’s musical career, she has been blessed to have been a three (3) time Tobago Soca Monarch, International Soca Monarch Finalist, St Vincent & the Grenadines Ragga Soca Monarch, Road March Winner and Calypso Monarch.

 

Fya Empress proudly represents her country St. Vincent and the Grenadines regionally and internationally, catering to all crowds, spreading her powerful messages through her Calypso music and energetic Soca ensembles; in all hopes of raising the awareness of VincyMas and Caribbean music. She performs regularly at cultural festivals all over the Caribbean; from Trinidad’s Carnival to St Vincent’s Vincymas, Barbados Crop Over, Grenada’s Spice Mas and St Lucia amongst others.

 

International fans in Canada, New York and England also enjoy having Fya Empress perform on their home soil; ranging from performances at Notting Hill Carnival, Night Clubs such as Scala and The Caronet in London to Labor Day Carnival in Brooklyn New York. This hardworking, petite and ‘fyarie’ performer is widely becoming known as a strong contender within the Soca Arena and have many plans on improving her craft and broadening her horizons in the future.
